The Lolek Center Announces Planned Opening Date
This date is significant: it is the birthday of St. John Paul II, whose childhood nickname “Lolek” (meaning “free man” in Polish) inspires our name.
We are thrilled to announce that The Lolek Center, a new community and formation center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will officially open on Monday, May 18, 2026.
This date is significant: it is the birthday of St. John Paul II, whose childhood nickname “Lolek” (meaning “free man” in Polish) inspires our name. Throughout his life, St. John Paul II showed a profound love for authentic community, deep friendship, and the energy of young people. He gathered friends for prayer, discussion, and joyful fellowship, and he constantly called the youth to live boldly for Christ — believing that holiness is not reserved for a few, but a gift offered to all. That vision lies at the heart of everything we will do at The Lolek Center.

The afternoon will begin with a special blessing of the building. You’ll then enjoy:
